Portability of Cloud applications

If an enterprise wants to migrate its applications from one cloud service provider (csp) to another , it could be a majoor issue. Similarly what happens when an enterprise has a major dispute on performance issues or commercial  matters with his CSP?  Can the CSP unilaterally switch off the enterprise application and stop further access?  If the CSP stops access how can he enterprise retrieve his data ?  Unless this is solved, why should any one use the cloud?

Rebranding Cloud.

The word cloud conjures images of  uncertainty, doubt & temporary existence. At best it has a silver lining at times. It is my strong belief that this branding is one of the basic reasons for Cloud Computing not being adopted in a big way by  good sized corporates  & large enterprises who are mostly led by people very strong in the Business Management side, a bit weak in understanding Technology and depend a lot on hunches or intuition. Can they trust something like computing  from the cloud?
